Perfect Pairings for Easter Brunch

Easter brunch is a great opportunity to bring family and friends together for some delicious food, conversation, and of course, wine. Pairing the right wine can elevate the experience even further.  A good selection of Easter wines should include something light and bright to pair with the morning pastries or eggs; something fruity yet dry for the main courses; and perhaps a dessert wine. You can also set up a DIY mimosa station so everyone can customize their own drinks. Read More

True Meaning of Membership

Wine club membership is a great way to stay connected with your favorite winery. Not only do you get access to exclusive wines, special events, and discounts; but you also have the opportunity to build relationships with the people behind the scenes who are passionate about what they do. Being part of a wine club can be an incredibly rewarding experience, as it allows members to become part of something bigger than themselves and contribute their support for all that goes into making each bottle of wine unique and special. Benefits can include access to limited release wines which tend to be small lot and passion projects of the winemakers, attending private tastings in the winery cellar or touring vineyards on a winemaker-led tour. Being a member opens doors that would otherwise remain closed.  Read More

Red Blends of Livermore Valley to Drink Now

Wine blending is the art of combining different grape varieties to create a particular flavor profile. It’s an important step during winemaking to produce a unique and complex wine, as each variety brings its own set of characteristics to the blend. Winemakers strive for balance, using their knowledge of how certain grapes interact with one another to craft a harmonious final product. Red blends are known for their exciting and intricate flavor profiles. A combination of flavors can be much more diverse than any single variety could offer, allowing for greater complexity and depth in the resulting taste. For example, a red blend may include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel or Petite Sirah which all bring their own unique flavors to the mix such as berry notes from Cabernet Sauvignon or spice from Syrah. This allows for endless possibilities when creating distinct and delicious red blends.  We have had the pleasure of tasting many great Red Blends from our wineries in the valley, and we recommend you try them too.  Here are our picks of current releases that are sourced right here  in Livermore Valley! International Syrah Day

International Syrah day celebrates the bold, full bodied varietal with a unique and complex blend of flavors. Syrah explodes with notes of cracked black pepper, smoky bacon, dark blackberries, and cassis. The tannins are typically structured yet soft on the finish. Livermore Valley’s warm climate and rocky soil produces intensely flavored wines that are perfect for aging.   Syrah is best enjoyed with hearty grilled meats, such as steak or lamb, as well as bold cheeses like camembert and blue cheese. Its robust flavor makes it ideal for sipping solo or pairing with food.  Read More

The French use the phrase “gout de terroir” when speaking of certain wines. It translates to “taste of the soil” and no, it doesn’t mean that the wine taste like dirt, it refers to that rich, earthy flavor that some wines carry. Read More
